Shahnaz Bhayani, PT, DPT
Shahnaz Bhayani, PT, DPT, certDN, LSVT BIG® Certified earned her Doctorate of Physical Therapy degree from Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine Georgia. She completed her Honours Bachelor’s of Science degree from the University of Toronto in Integrative Biology, Health Studies and Anthropology.

Shahnaz has a special interest in improving patient’s quality of life and decreasing their pain. As a firm believer of continuous learning, she has completed post graduate coursework in The Lumbar Spine of the McKenzie Diagnosis and Therapy which classifies, examines and manages lumbar back pain.

Shahnaz specializes in treating Parkinson’s with a LSVT BIG® Certification. LSVT BIG is an evidence-based intensive treatment program for people with Parkinson’s disease (PD) with application to other neurological conditions. People living with PD or other neurological conditions often move differently, with gestures and actions that become smaller and slower. LSVT BIG effectively trains improved movements for any activity, whether its small motor tasks like buttoning a shirt or large motor tasks like getting up from sofa or chair, self-care and other activities of daily living by helping people recalibrate how they perceive their movements with what others actually see. Research on LSVT BIG has also documented improvement following treatment in Unified Parkinson’s Disease Rating Scale (UPDRS) Motor Score and multi-tasking with walking.

Shahnaz is certified in Dry Needling from the American Academy of Manipulative Therapy, enhancing her ability to treat various musculo-skeletal conditions of the spine and extremities.

When not working, Shahnaz can be found trying new recipes to bake, hiking on one of the several trails in the Greater Atlanta Area, and volunteering at her local mosque.
